Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) refers to acts of violence or abuse that are directed at a person or group based on their gender and committed, assisted, or amplified by digital technologies.
TFGBV is a serious and growing problem because digital tools can be used to stalk, threaten, monitor, impersonate, humiliate or control people, often in ways that are hard to escape. Half of Australian women have faced tech-facilitated abuse at some point in their lifetime.
Digital Rights Watch is committed to combating technology-facilitated gender-based violence through education, policy work and advocacy.
